This is not a split image. This is one of the many long stair hallways of #eiheiji, an 800 year old monastery in the mountains of #Fukui #japan. Several intersect outside and inside. This area also gets snowfall!

This is the type of scene I missed the most about Japan – the regular city. Train platforms, apartment buildings, the roads… the everyday things that I spent 2 years working in. The tourist spots are cool, but the everyday life has my ❤️.

This park is across the street Tokyo Temple, but it's ridiculously hard to get a good photo of the temple. Narrow road and a lot of power lines. The view from the park though is beautiful, especially with a lovely sunset.

This is a little Soba (noodle) shop that @atwinklefinger and I ate at before visiting #eiheiji. I almost accidentally ordered Herring Udon and that would have been a major catastrophe. After we ate we had a lovely conversation with the shop owner. Her family has been there for 90 years making noodles for tourists.

On our first day in Tokyo @richlegg took @atwinklefinger and I around several spots, one of which was #sensojitemple in #asakusa. I started a Facebook Live while there, and Rich quickly took over. About 10 minutes in he handed the broadcast to Alicia and showed us the proper way to prepare to enter the temple. Fun times!!
